Stones: the heater decides, not you
Stone quantity and stone type are both set by the heater, not by preference. A pillar heater can take five boxes where a wall heater takes one, and several Harvia heaters specify a particular stone by code — the Spirit series, for example, takes 110 lbs of R-991, which is four boxes. Both figures are published on each heater’s own listing.
Stones are also not permanent. They crack and crumble with heat cycling, and crumbled stones choke the airflow through the heater. Most manufacturers ask you to tip them out, discard the broken ones and restack the rest once a year.
Cushions and covers are cabin-specific
Bench cushions and weather covers are cut for a particular cabin, so check the model named on the listing against the sauna you own. A cover that nearly fits holds water against the wood, which is worse than no cover at all.
Railings and flanges fit named heaters only
Safety railings and embedding flanges are made for specific heater series — Cilindro and Spirit are not interchangeable. The compatible models are named in the specification on each listing. If yours is not named there, call before ordering rather than after.
