Before You Order — Please Read
Built to order — approximately 4 to 8 weeks.
This sauna is not held in finished stock. It is built after your order is confirmed. The manufacturer gives a window of roughly four to eight weeks from order confirmation, and we publish the range rather than the best case so you can plan around it. If the timeline moves, we will tell you.
Working to a deadline — a season, an install date, a contractor booked? Call 866-427-8202 before ordering and we will confirm the current build time.
Because it is built to order, this sauna is not returnable.
The manufacturer's published policy treats products crafted specifically to order as non-returnable, with a 24-hour cancellation window from order placement. After that window a restocking fee of 35% of the purchase price applies, and return shipping is deducted from any refund.
On a sauna at this price that is a figure worth saying out loud rather than burying. If you are not certain, call us before you order, not after. We would rather spend twenty minutes helping you decide than have you face a charge like that. We confirm the exact terms with the manufacturer on every order.
Electrical
This sauna includes the Harvia Spirit 8kW WiFi heater. The manufacturer publishes 240V single phase, 60Hz, 33 amps, 8-gauge copper for this heater. It is UL Listed and must be hardwired by a licensed electrician following the supplied manual and local electrical code.
The 33 amps is the heater's draw. Your electrician determines the final breaker size for your specific run — we publish the manufacturer's figures rather than a number we worked out ourselves. If you want to check what this involves before ordering, send us a photo of your panel and we will talk it through.
Foundation and anchoring
The sauna needs a flat, load-bearing foundation — the manufacturer specifies a slab of approximately 1880 × 1880 mm (about 6 ft 2 in square), or strip foundations at 940 mm spacing. Bare soil and grass are not foundations.
Anchoring is the owner's responsibility. Strong winds exert real force on a garden building, and the manufacturer does not accept liability for damage caused by inadequate anchoring. Plan the base before you order — it takes longer to arrange than the delivery does.
Assembly
This ships as a pre-cut kit with no field cutting required. The manufacturer states you need basic manual skills and an assistant — a minimum of two people. All screw fittings must be pre-drilled.
Tools you supply: hammer with a wooden block and mallet, cordless screwdriver with cross-head and Torx bits, tape measure, drill bits (4, 5, 6 and 20–30 mm for the heater cable), spirit level, and an open-ended spanner.
The wood, and what you need to do to it
The exterior arrives untreated. The manufacturer recommends painting or staining the outside with a suitable product to protect it and extend its life — that is the owner's job, not something done at the factory. The interior must not be treated with any paint or finish.
Wood is a natural material that swells, shrinks and can warp. Some force may be needed during assembly, and the colour will change over the first year or two. That weathering is normal and is not a defect.
Weather and condensation
A barrel sauna is not 100% watertight. Rain can enter, which is why two drain holes are pre-drilled in the lowest stave — these must be left clear so water can escape. Condensation can also stain the wood, particularly under the glass, so the sauna should be dried out by heating it after use.
Bitumen shingles are included and should be installed promptly once the barrel is built.
Delivery
Delivery is by lorry or semi-trailer to the curb. Access to the unloading area must be clear, and the longest components are approximately 2400 mm (94.5 inches), so walk the route before you order — gate widths, steps, slopes and overhanging branches. Inside delivery and assembly can usually be arranged as a separate service; ask us before ordering and we will quote it.
Warranty
Five years, parts only, against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use, from the date the original purchaser receives the product. Claims are administered by Finnish Sauna Builders with the manufacturer.
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, weather effects, routine maintenance such as tightening the barrel bands or staining the exterior, misuse or negligence. It is a parts-only warranty — service and labour costs are not covered.
Check your delivery against the parts list as soon as it arrives and report anything missing or damaged to us straight away.
Questions before you buy

A Spacious Outdoor Sauna with a Built-In Terrace
The Turku is the largest terrace model in this four-sauna collection. Its 94.49-inch exterior length provides a generous heated interior while reserving space at the entrance for a covered terrace. The terrace creates a convenient place to sit, cool down, store towels, or transition between sauna rounds without adding a separate structure.
Inside, two-tier benches let bathers choose between lower and higher seating positions. The classic barrel shape reduces unused interior volume and encourages heat to circulate through the curved cabin rather than collecting in square ceiling corners.

Planning and Installation
Install the sauna on a flat, stable, properly prepared base with suitable drainage. Confirm local setback, electrical, permitting, and homeowners-association requirements before delivery. An 8kW electric sauna heater requires a dedicated hardwired circuit and installation by a qualified electrician. Verify the exact heater, controller, breaker, wire size, and stone requirements for the supplied package before electrical work begins.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the Turku different from the Vassa?
Both are six-person models with the same exterior length, width, and height. The Turku uses part of that length for a front terrace, giving it a 74.80-inch heated interior. The Vassa has no terrace and offers a longer 86.61-inch heated interior.
Is the sauna delivered fully assembled?
No. It is a pre-cut DIY barrel-sauna kit. The components are prepared for assembly, but the base, electrical work, site access, and local approvals are the buyer’s responsibility unless separate installation services are arranged.
Can it be used year-round?
It is designed as an outdoor sauna. Climate, wind exposure, drainage, exterior maintenance, and weather protection affect year-round performance and longevity.
Does the heater use a standard outlet?
No. An 8kW sauna heater generally requires dedicated 240V hardwired electrical service. A licensed electrician should follow the final heater manual and local code.
