What it is
A complete cold plunge system: a 34-inch-deep acrylic tub paired with a 1.5 horsepower chiller and a UV and ozone filtration package. It arrives as one system rather than a tub you then have to specify a chiller for.
The depth is the thing that distinguishes it. At 34 inches, the water sits above the shoulders while you remain seated upright — and the tub accommodates users up to 6'5". Most acrylic plunge tubs require you to either lie back or fold your knees to get your shoulders under.
Runs on a standard household outlet
The LUX chiller draws a maximum of 11 amps at 110 volts. No electrician, no dedicated 220V circuit, no panel work.
This is worth checking against anything else you are considering. Many chillers in this horsepower class require 220V service, and the installed cost of running that circuit to a patio or garage is frequently four figures before the equipment is switched on.

Heats as well as chills
The same unit takes the water to 104°F. That makes contrast bathing possible in a single tub rather than requiring separate hot and cold installations, and it means the tub stays usable through winter in climates where an unheated plunge becomes unpleasant rather than bracing.
What's included
- X Tub acrylic cold plunge tub
- LUX high-performance chiller and filtration system
- Sanitation kit with ozone and UV
- Premium aluminum steps
- Insulated spa cover
- Cold plunge drain pump
- Hose filter
Nothing further is required to run the system. The steps, cover and drain pump are frequently sold separately at this price point.
Chemical-free sanitation
Water is treated with UV light and ozone rather than chlorine or bromine, and passed through 20-micron filtration. For a tub used several times a week by one household, this removes the routine of dosing and testing chemicals, and it avoids the chemical smell that carries on skin and swimwear.
Filters are consumable and need periodic replacement. UV bulbs have a service life and are replaceable.
Delivery and installation
Ships free to the contiguous United States. Installation takes roughly an hour and does not require a contractor.
Before ordering, confirm the intended location has a level, load-bearing surface and access to a standard 110V outlet. A filled plunge tub is heavy and is not a thing you reposition afterwards — decide where it lives before it arrives.
Warranty and support
One-year warranty. If you need to make a claim, contact us at support@homemedspa.com. We open the claim and manage it with the manufacturer on your behalf.
Returns
See our Return & Refund Policy. Terms stated on this page govern where they differ from the general policy.
Before you use cold water immersion. Cold-water immersion can create significant cardiovascular and breathing stress. Enter gradually, never plunge alone when you are new to it, and speak with a qualified healthcare professional first if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, or any circulatory condition. Do not use alcohol before or during immersion.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an electrician to install this?
No. The chiller runs on a standard 110V household outlet and draws a maximum of 11 amps. Installation takes about an hour and requires no electrical work.
How deep is it, and will I fit?
The tub is 34 inches deep and accommodates users up to 6'5". The depth allows the water to sit above the shoulders while seated upright, rather than requiring you to recline or draw your knees up.
Can it be used as a hot tub?
The unit heats to 104°F as well as chilling to 34°F, so it supports contrast bathing and warm soaking. It is a single-person plunge tub rather than a multi-seat spa, so think of the heat function as extending what one tub can do rather than replacing a hot tub.
What maintenance does it need?
UV and ozone sanitation means no chlorine or bromine dosing. Filters are consumable and replaced periodically, and the UV bulb has a service life and is replaceable. Beyond that, keep the cover on when the tub is not in use.
How long does it take to cool the water?
Cooling time depends on starting water temperature, ambient air temperature, and how well the cover is seated. A 1.5 HP chiller on an insulated tub is at the stronger end of residential equipment. Ask us for a current figure before ordering if this matters to your routine.
