The Canadian Timber Luna is a four-person outdoor cabin sauna in Eastern White Cedar, supplied as a complete package: cabin, 9 kW Homecraft Revive heater, control unit, heater guard, floor plate and interior lighting. Everything needed to run it arrives in one order.

Not included: stain, sound system, accessory packages, additional lighting, adjustable installation base. Call if you want any of them added before the build.
Why 9 kW and not 6 kW.
The Luna’s interior volume is 315 cubic feet. Leisurecraft’s own electric heater calculator applies a 1.1 multiplier to outdoor cabins — an outdoor sauna loses more heat to the weather than an indoor one — giving an adjusted volume of 347 cubic feet and a recommended output of 7.5 kW to 9 kW.
We specify 9 kW. An undersized heater does not fail, it just takes a long time to get there, and that is not a thing you want to discover after the concrete is poured.

Electrical
The 9 kW heater runs on a dedicated 240V circuit. It is not a plug-in appliance and it does not share a circuit with anything else.
We confirm the exact breaker size and wire gauge with you in writing before you order, because the correct answer depends on the length of the run from your panel and on your local code. If you send us a photo of your panel we will tell you what is involved before you spend anything.
This one voids the warranty if you get it wrong.
Leisurecraft’s warranty states: “All electrical connections must be made by a licensed electrician. Failure to comply with this requirement will void the warranty.” A handyman wiring it costs you five years of cover.
Delivery and the crate
| Crate dimensions | 84" × 45" × 44" (214 × 114 × 112 cm) |
|---|---|
| Crate weight | 1,526 lb / 692 kg |
| Delivery method | Freight, on a pallet, to the curb |
| Build time | Built to order, approximately five weeks |
Read the weight again before you order. One crate, 1,526 pounds, delivered to the curb. That is not a two-person unload and it is the part people underestimate. Walk the route first: gate widths, steps, slopes, overhanging branches, soft ground. Then work out how the crate gets from the curb to the pad.
Call us before you order and we will quote inside delivery or an assembly crew if you want it. It is cheaper to arrange in advance than to solve on the day.
Foundation
The Luna needs a level base with a slight slope to the back for drainage. A concrete pad, a wood deck rated for the weight, crushed stone, or patio stones and paver blocks all work. Bare soil and grass do not — a cabin that settles unevenly will rack its door frame.
Leisurecraft’s own advice is worth repeating: “build a base larger than required to provide a sitting area for cooling off during your sauna session.”
Assembly
The Luna ships as a pre-cut kit with no field cutting. The manufacturer recommends two people and strongly recommends watching their assembly video before you start.
Tools you supply: rubber mallet, carpenter’s level, tape measure, cordless drill, carpenter’s hammer, Phillips and Robertson bits, 2" (51 mm) hole saw, step ladder, utility knife, carpenter’s square, 7/16" (11 mm) socket, staple gun.
The hole saw and the staple gun are the two that catch people out. Check you have them, or borrow them, before delivery day.
Warranty
| Term | 5 year residential limited warranty, from the date the product is received by the original end-user |
|---|---|
| Covers | Defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use |
| Remedy | Replacement parts at no charge. Replacement does not extend the period |
| Does not cover | Service, labour and installation costs are expressly excluded. Also normal wear and tear, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, natural weather conditions, and failure to follow the instructions |
| Heater | Heaters are not made by Leisurecraft and carry the heater manufacturer’s own warranty |
| Claims | Contact us first — 866-427-8202 or support@homemedspa.com. We open the claim with LeisureCraft and manage it through to the replacement parts |
Returns
| Returns | Not accepted. Dundalk LeisureCraft does not take Canadian Timber cabins back |
| Transit damage | Covered. Remedied with replacement wood or components, not a return |
| Report damage within | 48 hours of delivery, with photographs |
| Cancellation | Possible before the build is released to the factory. Call us |
This sauna cannot be returned or exchanged. It is built to order over roughly five weeks and the manufacturer does not accept returns, so we are not able to offer one. At $10,634.50 that is worth knowing before you order rather than after — call 866-427-8202 and we will go through the cabin size, the heater selection, your foundation and the delivery route with you first. That is a ten-minute conversation and it is the reason most of our customers never need this section.
Damage in transit is a different matter, and it is covered. LeisureCraft remedies it by sending replacement wood or components rather than taking the cabin back. Inspect the crate before you sign the delivery receipt, note any damage on the receipt before signing, photograph the crate, the components and the shipping labels, and contact us within 48 hours. We file the claim and manage it through to the replacement parts.
A signed clean delivery receipt makes a freight claim very difficult, so that one step at the truck matters more than any other. Claim approval rests with the manufacturer or carrier, and clear photographs are what decide it.
One thing to settle before you order: the delivery address needs to be final. A change of ship-to address after the build leaves the factory carries a fee, and so does a delayed delivery appointment once the crate is in the network. Both are avoidable with one phone call in advance. See Delivery and the crate above for the crate dimensions and the unloading question.
Three things that are normal, so you do not call us about them
These come straight from the manufacturer’s manual, and they are the three most common “something is wrong with my sauna” calls in the category.
1. Minor water seepage is expected
Leisurecraft: “Some minor water seeping into the sauna is expected and normal for an outdoor sauna… due to the porous characteristics of the wood and to the ball-and-socket profile design of the staves. Water Seepage will not harm the sauna. The moisture will evaporate once you turn on the heater.” Water marks sand out with 80–100 grit.
2. The cedar turns grey
Leisurecraft: “Over time the lumber will weather naturally as a result of sun and rain, it will change into a weathered grey colour. This natural weathering will not harm the wood or impair the sauna’s performance.” Staining is cosmetic and optional. Cedar stains are available in Espresso, Limestone Trail, Onyx Gem and Pickled White — ask and we will add one to the order.
3. Never treat the interior
No stain, no sealant, no ammonia, no harsh cleaners — they turn the wood grey. Vacuum or sweep often, wash the floor and benches with warm soapy water a few times a year, and use fine-grit sandpaper or a low-pressure wash on stubborn marks.
Questions before you buy
Call 866-427-8202 or email support@homemedspa.com. The questions worth asking before you order are what is at your electrical panel, what the sauna will stand on, and how a 1,526 lb crate reaches your garden. We would rather talk all three through now than sort them out after the freight company has been.
