What it is

The Cal Saunas SOLARA-OUTDOOR is a three-person outdoor infrared sauna, ETL listed by Intertek and built for permanent installation on a patio or deck. It uses ceramic and carbon infrared heaters together, and runs on a dedicated 20-amp 120-volt circuit rather than the 240-volt service most outdoor saunas require.

Outdoor use only. This model is not designed for indoor installation.

Who it's for

A household that wants a sauna outdoors and would rather run one 120-volt circuit than a 240-volt line. Three people fit on the bench, and the cabin reaches temperature in 30–45 minutes, which makes weekday use realistic.

Not for commercial use. The manufacturer's warranty is void if the sauna is installed in a short-term rental such as Airbnb or Vrbo, or in a hotel, hostel, or public or members-only gym. A private home gym for a single family is permitted.

Delivery

Freight shipping is calculated at checkout and is not included in the price. Enter your address at checkout to see the exact amount for your location.

Ships in four boxes on a pallet by freight carrier, delivered curbside to your driveway on a liftgate truck. The carrier does not bring it into your yard, unpack it, or assemble it. Individual panels weigh up to 80 lb, so have help available.

Someone must be present to receive and sign. The carrier will call to schedule an appointment window.

White-glove inside delivery is available on request — contact us before ordering and we'll quote it for your address.

Installation and site prep

You will need at least four people to assemble this sauna. Wall panels weigh 60–80 lb and the manufacturer specifically prohibits assembling alone.

  1. Prepare a level, load-bearing pad with drainage — concrete, pavers, or a rated deck. Allow for the full 78.7" × 59" roof footprint, not just the cabin. Uneven ground bends hinges and warps walls, and that damage is not covered.
  2. Have an electrician install a dedicated 20-amp 120-volt circuit with its own outlet at the site, if you don't already have one.
  3. Clear a 10' × 10' area for unpacking and sorting panels.
  4. Assemble it in its final position. Moving the sauna after assembly can fracture panels at the screw points.

Do not install near a pool, pond, or other open water, or in a humid or damp area.

Warranty and support

Cal Saunas provides a one-year manufacturer warranty from the date of delivery, administered by Lloyd's Material Supply Company, Inc.:

Structural — wall panel balance and locking 1 year
Electrical — power unit and control panel 1 year
Carbon/IR heaters and circuit board 1 year
Accessories, LED lighting, audio system 1 year

Parts are covered. Freight, labor, diagnostic and travel fees are not. The warranty is void if the sauna is used commercially, installed on uneven ground, repaired by anyone other than an authorized technician, or fitted with non-genuine parts.

If you need to make a claim, contact us at support@homemedspa.com and we will open and manage it with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Returns

Please read before ordering.

This is a special-order item and returns are not accepted once it has shipped. Orders may be cancelled at no charge any time before the item ships.

Shipping damage is covered and resolved through replacement parts or replacement.

Inspect all four boxes before you sign the delivery receipt. Photograph them on arrival, write any damage on the receipt before signing, and contact us within 48 hours with the photographs. Signing a clean receipt can prevent a damage claim from being paid.

Inspect panels, cables and heating elements before assembly. Do not start the sauna if any damage is visible on the cables or heating elements — contact us instead.

Frequently asked questions

Does this sauna need a special electrical outlet?

Yes. It requires a dedicated, independent 20-amp 120-volt circuit with its own outlet. It cannot share an outlet with other appliances, and extension cords and surge protectors are not permitted. If you don't already have an unshared 20-amp exterior circuit at the site, you'll need an electrician — though this is a much smaller job than the 240-volt service most outdoor saunas this size require.

How much space do I need for the SOLARA-OUTDOOR?

The cabin is 59" wide by 41.7" deep, but the roof overhangs to 78.7" wide by 59" deep — size your pad for the roof, not the cabin. Overall height is 85.5". During assembly you'll also want a clear 10' × 10' area to unpack and sort panels.

What is the difference between an infrared and a traditional sauna?

A traditional sauna heats the air with a stove and rocks, usually running 160–200°F, and you pour water over the rocks for steam. An infrared sauna warms your body directly with radiant heat and runs cooler — the SOLARA reaches up to 149°F. It uses ceramic and carbon infrared heaters together, which is why it comes up to temperature in 30–45 minutes. There is no stone heater and you do not add water.

How many people does it seat?

Three. The interior bench is 55.5" wide and 19.7" deep.

Can this sauna be installed outdoors?

Yes — it is designed for outdoor use only and is not intended for indoor installation. It needs a level, load-bearing pad with drainage. Do not install it near a pool, pond, or other open water, or in a humid or damp location, and make sure water cannot pool at the base — standing water there voids the warranty. It is rated for temperate continental climates.

What warranty comes with it?

One year from the date of delivery, covering structural defects affecting wall panel balance and locking, the power unit and control panel, the carbon and infrared heaters and circuit board, and the lighting and audio system. It is warranted by Lloyd's Material Supply Company, Inc. Parts are covered; freight, labor, diagnostic and travel fees are not. The warranty is void if the sauna is used commercially, including in short-term rentals such as Airbnb or Vrbo. Contact us at support@homemedspa.com and we will open and manage the claim on your behalf.

Does it arrive assembled?

No. It ships as a kit in four boxes — front and rear panel, side panels, bench/ceiling/floor, and roof components. Plan on at least four people: individual wall panels weigh 60–80 lb and the manufacturer specifically prohibits assembling alone. Assemble it in its final position, because moving it afterwards can fracture panels at the screw points.

How is it delivered?

By freight carrier — four boxes on a pallet, delivered curbside to your driveway on a liftgate truck. The carrier does not bring it into your yard, unpack it, or assemble it. Freight is calculated at checkout based on your address. White-glove inside delivery is available on request; contact us before ordering for a quote.
