What electrical work does it need?

What we would add: standard household voltage still means the circuit has to carry the load. At 1700W this draws roughly 14 amps, which is most of a 15-amp circuit on its own. Give it an outlet that is not shared with anything else, and check with an electrician if you are unsure what that outlet is on. A traditional sauna heats the air with a stove and rocks, usually running 160–200°F. An infrared sauna warms your body directly with radiant heat and runs cooler — this one reaches about 140°F. There is no stone heater and you do not add water.
